EINDHOVEN, October 28, 2024 – LUMO Labs today announced the appointment of Kim Fuqua and Peter Brock to its Scientific, Industry and Impact Board of Advisors (SIIBA). Both new members will also be joining LUMO Labs’ Impact Committee as Board representatives.

Kim Fuqua is one of the leading voices globally on diversity and inclusion and EMEA Director, Customer Experience at Microsoft, with over 25 years of experience in the technology industry.

My role on LUMO’s Scientific, Industry and Impact Board and Impact Committee is an important investment of time and energy to help achieve my goal of leaving the world in better shape than I found it,” says Kim. “Businesses that plan to have sustainable growth and long-term success must recognize the need to integrate diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging into their everyday processes and decision-making. By working with founders to instill DEIB as a foundational value, I can help shape inclusive cultures from the ground up. My hope is that this early intervention can prevent the creation of systemic inequities while simultaneously making these organizations role models for developing innovative technologies that solve social and environmental challenges.”

She adds: “Microsoft’s mission of empowering every person and organization on the planet to achieve more is foundational to my work as a senior leader at Microsoft. In addition to driving Microsoft’s mission, I have made it my life’s mission to harness the power of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging to drive innovation in the technology industry and the corporate sector. I view the two mission statements as complementary and essential to giving my own life’s journey meaning and purpose.”

Peter Brock is an internationally acclaimed expert, educator and advisor on impact investing and on sustainable wealth transfer across generations. He is also co-founder of BeeWyzer and Impact Investing Magazin.

“It is a matter close to my heart to help allocate more and more capital into impact investing via professional VC funds like LUMO Labs in order to offer diversification opportunities for startup investments to families of wealth,” says Peter. “Ever since I am self-employed, I am increasingly involved in the impact space to show that impact investing is possible in all asset classes and at market rate returns! I am looking forward to my role on LUMO’s Scientific, Industry and Impact Board as well as on the Impact Committee in order to help ensure a professional and consistent approach to impact venture capital investing.”
