We are looking for a full-time Investment Analyst/Associate to support the LUMO team in Barcelona to strengthen our focus on Spanish start-ups.

LUMO Labs

LUMO Labs is a multi-stage (pre-seed to series A) VC Fund. LUMO’s purpose is to improve quality of life and wellbeing of individuals, and for medium- and long-term relief of the ever-increasing strain on (public) healthcare, social welfare, and the planet.

The fund invests in Europe and has a focus on Emerging & Disruptive, and deeptech software technologies (AI, Data, Blockchain, IoT, Digital Security and VR/AR and invests in ambitious purpose-driven companies that solve problems within at least for of the following UN SDGs: Sustainable cities & Communities, Climate Action, Health & Well-being, and Quality Education.

Role

You will be trained by and part of the LUMO Labs investment team in Eindhoven. You will be actively involved in the entire process from deal sourcing to Due Diligence to supporting our portfolio companies.

To enjoy and succeed in this role, you need to be inquisitive, tech-savvy, accurate and have excellent analytical and communication skills (writing and presenting).

Responsibilities

  • Keeping track of market developments and reporting them to the team and management
  • Scouting the market, going to events and identifying potential portfolio companies
  • Screening pitch decks and financial models, challenging the founders of the teams
  • Creating (internal) presentations and assisting in thesis building
  • Attending meetings with founders and taking part in discussions
  • Taking an active role in our (bi) weekly meetings
  • Depending on your skills and interests, there will be opportunities to pick up more responsibilities, e.g., ecosystem management, portfolio management, LP reporting and more …

Requirements

  • Relevant master’s degree with strong credentials
  • Minimal 3-5 relevant years of experience within venture capital
  • Preferably an Engineering or Science education (Data science, computer science or equivalent)
  • Solid organizational skills, including time management and managing multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Team player
  • Good knowledge of and experience in desk research and interview styles
  • Eager to learn, pro-active and a can-do mentality
  • Fluent in Spanish (preferably native) and English
  • Proven affinity with social impact, technology and entrepreneurship
  • Located in Barcelona or willing to relocate
  • Onboarding in the first months will take place in the Eindhoven (the Netherlands) office
